Premise
Vetriselvan, a captain in the Indian Army, is given the task of studying Sector-42, a particular area within the forest. No one has dared to enter the area because it has witnessed an overwhelming amount of weird activity over the past 50 years. Dr. Keerthi informs Vetri that an alien named Minotaur has been living in the jungle and is responsible for the incidents once she arrives there. The plot’s central question is how Vetri and his team would exterminate the alien and its den with Dr. Keerthi’s help.

The film’s working title was Arya33. The film’s official title was revealed as Captain on November 18, 2021. Shakti Sounder Rajan is the director, marking his second collaboration with Arya after Teddy. Aishwarya Lekshmi was cast as the female lead opposite Arya, marking their first collaboration. Simran, Harish Uthaman, Kavya Shetty, and Gokul Anand all appear in key supporting roles. The movie’s main photography began on October 25, 2021, and ended on February 13, 2022.
In addition to working with Arya for the third time after Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga and Teddy, music D. Imman also collaborated with director Shakti Soundar Rajan for the fourth time after Miruthan to create the soundtrack and background score for the film.
