In September 2021, principal photography for the Pune filming began.
Music
Director Atlee allegedly contacted A. R. Rahman to create the film’s score. Anirudh Ravichander, who had previously written a song for David and the background score for Jersey, was chosen to write the music for the film after Rahman declined to do so for an unidentified reason. With this, he made his Bollywood solo compositional debut. T-Series and Lahari Music will buy the song rights.
Release
The debut date for Jawan is June 2, 2023. The Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions of the film will all include subtitles.

Development
In late 2019, there were rumours that Shah Rukh Khan might collaborate with Tamil director Atlee on his debut Hindi feature; the project was subsequently confirmed in 2020. Rumor has said that production could begin as soon as May 2021.
Nayanthara made her acting debut in Hindi films when she was chosen to play the female lead after Samantha was initially cast. Later additions to the group included Priyamani, Sunil Grover, and Sanya Malhotra [5][6]. Vijay Sethupathi was cast in the antagonist role after Rana Daggubati denied it due to health concerns. Later, it was revealed that Deepika Padukone plays Khan’s wife in a cameo role in the film.
